Deion Sanders will either join Shedeur Sanders in NFL or take FSU job, analyst claims

Mike Farrell Sports' Rock Westfall believes Deion Sanders is either going to coach Shedeur Sanders in the NFL or replace Mike Norvell as FSU's head coach. Either way, Colorado isn't Coach Prime's future according to Westfall.

"To his credit, Sanders has brought in some talented players and more are visiting campus," Westfall prefaced before saying, "Still, the Buffaloes only have eight commits in 2024, tied with Vanderbilt for the lowest in the Power Four. As I recently wrote, it is more likely Coach Prime and Shedeur will come as a package deal in the NFL, unless Florida State has enough mad money to buyout Mike Norvell and bring its favorite son home to become HC. Recruits don't want to commit to a coach that will soon be gone.

"Deion Sanders deserves full marks for creating a phenomenal atmosphere at Folsom Field on Saturday night. But this drama, unlike any other, will probably go dark in December. So, enjoy it while you can."

USA Today's Blake Toppmeyer also claimed Boulder isn't where Sanders will be in 2025 and beyond.

"Sanders magnetized eyeballs to a program that starved for attention," Toppmeyer prefaced before saying, "His presence helped ensure Colorado didn’t get left behind in realignment. And it’s no coincidence Colorado’s admissions applications surged after his first season. He put the university in the spotlight, and he made Colorado football fun, and college students like having fun.

"And when he packs his luggage and listens for a voice from on high, Colorado would do well to go hire the next Sanders, except that won’t be possible, because Coach Prime can’t be duplicated."

Deion Sanders isn't going to FSU and he definitely isn't going to the NFL

Yup, these rumors again.

FSU isn't an option since Footballscoop’s Zach Barnett reports that there's still animosity between Sanders and the school he doesn't claim as his alma mater despite starring there as a player in the 1980s.

"Sanders clearly holds a level of animosity toward Florida State, and Florida State certainly holds a high level of animosity toward arguably the greatest player to ever wear the garnet and gold,” Barnett wrote.

Never mind the fact that Sanders won't have the same autonomy anywhere else that he has in Colorado.

As for the NFL, that wouldn't happen in a million years if Sanders is to be taken at his word. Coach Prime has said he doesn't want to manage millionaire egos and repeatedly claimed he won't be a "baby daddy" and follow his sons to the NFL; instead claiming he's a "father."

Retirement is the plan if Sanders isn't long for CU. Not FSU. And definitely not the NFL. But Coach Prime is aiming to line up 5-star QBs like Julian Lewis and Keelon Russell for visits.

So he's probably not retiring either. Sorry non-Buffs fans. Not sorry, CU.
