Shilo Sanders might not have played well against K-State last Saturday, but he sure as hell played it smooth when dealing with its repercussions. Addressing the media and answering their questions amid the widespread hate he was getting was a brave move that earned him the respect of several people.

One of them was his father and head coach, Deion Sanders.

"He is the 1 kid I have I don't worry about. He is mentally and physically tough. He don't flinch when it comes to noise. and if people really look at his career, this is the first time that we’ve seen Shilo vulnerable. I know what I’m gonna get this game. I know he’s gonna brag it," Deion said when asked about his son Shilo's bold move of addressing the media (h/t On3).

"But I’m glad it transpired because he got an opportunity to see who everyone is. And I always tell him, I say, son, people love you based on what you give them. Not just based on love. People ain’t like that anymore in life.”

Deion Sanders called Shilo's performance against K-State 'horrible'

While Coach Prime is now proud of his son for owning up, he wasn't afraid to call him out in front of the world either. After Shilo had a disappointing performance with 10 tackles in the game and plenty of missed opportunities, Deion called his performance "horrible".

"I thought he was rusty, he didn't have his footing. I thought he wasn't breaking down, he was coming up trying to make the play but open field, one-on-one tackling with that kind of back, that ain't an easy task. But he's going to do better, I know what he has in him," Coach Prime said in his post-game conference after the loss to K-State.

Deion played Shilo's position. He knows the difference between greatness and "horrible."
