Despite a spirited comeback from Shedeur Sanders in the fourth quarter, where the Buffs could have almost flipped the game, they lost to Kansas State on Saturday night. The 28-31 game was a cutthroat, down-to-the-wire one that dropped Colorado to 4-2 on the season.

Although it was not as lopsided as the 28-10 loss against Nebraska, it was still a tough-to-digest loss for CU. Postgame, Coach Prime addressed the boys in the locker room and highlighted the core mistakes that sabotaged them.

"They're a good team. A well-coached team. But I just have a feeling in my inside that we beat ourselves," Sanders said, per Well Off Media. "We didn't tackle, we didn't block. We had 45 yards rushing. They had 224 yards rushing. That's the testament to our life of discipline, our life of tackling, our life of everything.

"We're better than that. The whole world saw this. I believed right up to the end, to the last second click of the clock, that we would win the game. But little things that we do catch up with us. The way we practice catches up with us. The effort we give in practice catches up. And those things are going to continue to haunt us for the rest of our lives if you don't get it right."

"I'm proud that you fought hard, proud that you fought till the end but this should hurt because you know and you should feel like you're a better team," Prime added, ending his speech on a motivational note.

Travis Hunter suffers from a shoulder injury vs. Kansas State

It was not just the loss alone that hurt Colorado. Some of the finest players of the program sustained some major injuries in Saturday's battle. One of them was the two-way star Travis Hunter.

Hunter appeared to have sustained an injury on his right shoulder after getting hit by K-State safety Daniel Cobbs following a 14-yard reception in the second quarter. However, Hunter returned to the sideline in the third quarter but did not play. As of now, no concerning updates have been announced regarding the injury.

Along with Hunter, three other Buffs players also got injured. Jimmy Horn Jr. left and exited the game in the second quarter because of an unspecified injury. Omarion Miller and Terrell Timmons Jr. also left the field. It would cost Colorado a hefty sum if their injuries turn out serious.
