Travis Hunter winning the Heisman Award on Saturday night was an emotional affair for everyone he knew. His teammate Jimmy Horn Jr. even got teary-eyed after seeing Hunter pick up the trophy.
Deion Sanders Jr. tweeted Horn Jr.'s emotional reaction to Hunter's achievement.
"That boy Jimmy said 'I hope they didn’t show me on the camera because I had tears coming out my eyes… I damn near wanted to cry for Trav,'" Bucky Sanders wrote.
For Sanders Jr., it was nothing short of "Genuine love."
Horn. Jr. was not the only one who shed tears on Saturday evening. Hunter, the 2024 Heisman winner, couldn't help but shed a few tears for finally getting there. Hunter shared an emotional hug with Coach Prime and expressed his gratitude to his father in his Heisman speech. Hunter's father couldn't make it to New York.
Later in his interview, Horn Jr. was simply overjoyed when asked about his favorite memory with Hunter.
"I'd say North Dakota State game, man because all week the celebration we were doing at school," Horn said.
Horn Jr. also confessed how big of a fan he is of Hunter's little celebration dances. But overall the WR believed that every memory with the Heisman winner was a special one for him.
"I ain't got a lot of memories with Trav. Every one of those are good memories. Every memory is the last one," Horn Jr. said in his street-side interview.
Clearly, as opposed to the "Who's the quicker WR at Colorado: Hunter or Horn Jr.?" narrative that sprouted mid-season, Horn is clearly a fan, and a friend, of Hunter.
