Among the 30 finalists for the Buck Buchanan Award, presented annually to the national defensive player of the year in Division 1 FCS, was Zock.
In the Second Round of the FCS Football Championship Playoffs, the Mercer Bears lost 47-0 to the South Dakota Coyotes. Mercer finished the regular season 9-3.
Zock recorded six tackles in the loss.
The defensive lineman, originally committed to Navy, spurned their offer after learning they planned to send him to a prep school for a year.
Zock also has a scheduled visit lined up with Toledo.
