Deion Sanders sent love to Colorado football LB Jeremiah Brown, who entered into the transfer portal once it opened on December 9. Coach Prime told Brown to call him if he needed anything after he shared his regrets that they never got to fish together.
"My Dawg! I’m gonna miss u man. I never got to kick yo butt on the lake but you’re still welcome eventho u dipped. Lololol love ya man. 4 real. Handle yo business and call if u need me," Sanders tweeted.
Brown had sent a loving message himself.
"Thank you Colorado for everything! Forever grateful for the opportunity. Love coach prime and the support staff will forever be family," Brown tweeted.
Coach Prime has been known to show gratitude to his players after leaving. He even showed love to controversial former WR Anthony Roberson, who had several heinous accusations before he, Sanders, and Rick George came to an agreement that transferring was his best way forward.
"Love (you) my man and whomever you commit to will be getting a good young man that wants to prove to everybody he's more than deserving! God bless (you) my man," Sanders tweeted.
Sanders also always showed love to Dylan Edwards after leaving for Kansas State.
"I love the young man," Sanders said (h/t On SI). "I love him for life. Everybody who leaves here in the right manner and those who leave here, period, I want them to be successful. I have never wished wrongful things on any young man or woman in my life or any of you all. I want you to be successful, and I want you to find your purpose. When you find your purpose and you understand what it is you won't hate on me, you won't hate on your neighbor, your friend, or your family members.
“Dylan made a tremendous choice for he and his family. I support that 100%. I just hate when guys make those decisions, and they leave, then they shoot back at us. If you’re going where you’re going, you don’t shoot back because you’re so focused on where you’re headed. He ain’t got time to turn around and shoot back so I thank him for not being that guy. We had some great moments, and he’s going to have many more great moments, so I’m proud of him. I just don’t want him to perform well against us, but I want him to perform well against every other team. I really do.”
Coach Prime is a player-friendly coach -- well, outside of a few notable outliers like Cormani McClain -- and his attitude toward players who leave the program consistently proves that.
No matter whether you get a shoutout or not, Sanders will never badmouth a kid who left his program.
