Deion Sanders is proud of his Colorado football team despite their 31-28 loss to K-State in Week 7. While Coach Prime admitted that he wanted the win by any means, he recognized the difficulties in accomplishing that with so many injuries to key players like Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Omarion Miller.

"I'm proud of y'all... You fought to the end. I wanted that 'W' by all means but I'm proud of Y'all because you fought to the end," Sanders said via Well Off Media (h/t On SI). "That shows resilience. That shows who you are, and we didn't play our best game defensively, did we? Didn't stop the run. We gave up some explosions on the pass plays. Couldn't run the ball right?

"We got three receivers down...and four receivers hurt.. And we still had a chance to win the game... In all aspects, you should be proud of yourselves. Even though we didn't win, you should be proud of yourselves because we played one of our worst games and still had a chance to win it. Now, let's win it the next time we do it."

Colorado football still moving in the right direction despite loss to K-State

Colorado looked good even in losing. Shedeur Sanders was 12 yards short of 400 yards passing and elevated Will Sheppard and LaJohntay Wester after Hunter, Horn, and Miller went down. Miller had been having his best game before the injury, making Shedeur's pivot even more impressive.

The defense was lackluster for the most part, but K-State averages over 400 yards per game. Colorado, to their credit, kept K-State below their season average.

The Buffs looked like a team that's still on track to win eight or more games this season. If health isn't too much of an issue moving forward, of course.
