Just last year, when Dylan Edwards transferred from Colorado to Kansas State, he would have hardly fathomed that his return to Boulder would be one of the most anticipated games of the season.

As CU prepares to host K-State on Saturday, Coach Prime will be on the lookout for Edwards and the growth he underwent as an RB after moving on from the Buffs. Edwards' exit was cordial and mutual, and the feeling continues even now when Edwards plays against his alma mater.

"I'm happy for him. Anybody who chooses to go somewhere else and just take their game in life to another level, I'm happy for him," Sanders said, genuinely happy for the RB finding his perfect team on "Coach Prime's Playbook with Romi Bean."

"You can't hate on a kid. You can't dislike a kid just because he wanted to go somewhere else. Let them be happy. He is and I'm proud of him because he's making some plays there, he's getting opportunities to run the ball like he desired, but I'm happy for any kid that wants to move on."

The feeling is mutual between Deion Sanders and Dylan Edwards

The feeling of respect has always been mutual between Edwards and Coach Prime. When all the transfers were talking trash and were taking cheap shots at Coach Prime after leaving Colorado in 2023, Edwards exited quietly.

Even now, when asked about Coach Prime, the K-State RB only had nice things to say, as Wildcats coach Chris Kieman confirmed in his interview.

"I know he’s excited about the opportunity,” Klieman said of Edwards' Boulder return.

“I know he was excited about his time there. He has a ton of friends there. A lot of those teammates were his brothers, and that’s what college football is right now. Coaches do that as well as players, and so it’s always probably a little bit more special when you have a relationship with a previous school, whether you’re a player or a coach."

Expect no sizzling drama or aggressive cheap shots on the sidelines between Coach Prime and Edwards.

Just love.
