Emmanuel Acho believes Deion and Shedeur Sanders solidified their standings as a great coach and quarterback father-son duo with Colorado's dominant wire-to-wire 34-7 win over Arizona on October 19.

"Good morning beautiful people, 2 things have become undeniably true: Deion Sanders can coach— Colorado is 5-2 and firmly in striking position to win the Big 12. Shedeur Sanders is the most pro ready quarterback in college football. Have a wonderful day," Acho tweeted.

Coach Prime is now one win away from reaching his goal of six wins and a bowl game for the soon-to-be 100-year-old Peggy Coppom. Shedeur has had a similarly dominant season in 2024 to his initial go-round in Boulder, making him a likely top-10 NFL draft pick.

2024 has gone better than most could've imagined, though some believed in the Buffs since the beginning.

Joel Klatt predicted Colorado being a Big 12 contender

Joel Klatt, Acho's FS1 colleague, predicted Colorado being a Big 12 contender on the strength of Shedeur and Travis Hunter's talents. Although Klatt is a CU alum and was always going to be bullish, when you're right, you're right.

"There is a scenario where if Shedeur Sanders is healthy, and they maintain some of that health with guys on the outside, Travis Hunter, who I think is one of if not the best overall player in college football, there’s a chance that Colorado’s competing to go to the Big 12 Championship Game," Klatt said onThe Herd back in June.

Perhaps it's premature to say Colorado is a contender just yet. There's still five games left. For all we know, there could be another season-ending losing streak in store that will make all the post-Arizona takes obsolete.

But as things stand, very few were correct about who the Buffs would be this season. Klatt was one of those few.
