Four-star defensive lineman James "JJ" Johnson is 6-foot-4, 280-pound an elite standout from North Fort Myers High School in North Fort Myers, FL who will visiting Boulder, Colorado soon for an official visit.
Johnson according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports has locked in an official recruiting visit with Colorado this month, March 15th to be exact.
Johnson also has visits with Miami (FL), Syracuse, USC, Florida, Georgia and Penn State lined up.

The 247Sports composite ranks Johnson as the No. 22 DL in his class and the No. 26 prospect in Florida.

On3's 2026 update, director of scouting and rankings Charles Power wrote, "Johnson is an electric athlete who makes plays in the backfield at a high clip. The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder racked up 29 TFL in just nine games as a junior. He is a top thrower in track and field, sporting a stellar 57-7 foot best in the shot put."

The Florida native is coming off of a monster junior season finishing with 60 total tackles, 29 TFLs, five sacks and two fumble recoveries, according to MaxPreps.
NFL Hall of Fame defensive tackle, Warren Sapp is a pass rush coordinator for the University of Colorado football team along with DL coach Damione Lewis and defensive ends coach George Helow. The three defensive line coaches along with Deion Sanders will be likely to land the Fort Myers native if they can beat out Miami and Syracuse.
