Deion Sanders assured any Colorado football fan who was worried about not seeing Travis Hunter out on the field at All City Stadium in Denver on August 16; a practice that has received rave reviews from the local media.

"Travis is good," Coach Prime told the media after practice (h/t The Coloradoan). "We just wanted to give him some rest. He's great and he can't wait to see this sell-out crowd for our first game."

Interestingly enough, The Coloradoan's Scott Procter only spoke about Hunter's absence in the context of its impact on the receiver room. Hunter is one of two Buffs to don a grey two-way jersey, marking playing both sides of the ball. Truth be told, though, Hunter's route-running synergy with Shedeur Sanders' quarterbacking is more important right now than what No. 12 can do in watered down fall camp coverage.

Luckily, Coach Prime found a positive in Hunter's absence: figuring out how the depth of Shedeur's arsenal this season.

"We have a plethora of receivers who can get the job done," Sanders said. "Depth is a key ingredient that we have."

Shedeur Sanders didn't get to showcase much behind lackluster Colorado football OL

Perhaps Colorado's defensive front is going to be a problem for the entire Big 12, Colorado State, Nebraska, and North Dakota State this Fall. Warren Sapp's trenches dominated Phil Loadholt's, signaling a familiar problem that held the Buffs back in 2023.

Deion downplayed Shedeur's frustrations, but they were notable. CU was supposed to improve on its offensive line to have any sort of chance of competing in a new conference. If there isn't stark improvement in protection, the Buffs have the same exact problems as their 4-8 Pac-12 sendoff year version.

Coach Prime can't afford stagnation or steps back. Week 1 is close, and North Dakota State is physical and fast in the trenches. Does this line sort these issues out before one of Game 1's biggest trap games?
