This past weekend wasn’t just another visit window. It was a full-blown statement. Boulder became the epicenter of high school football’s future, and the Buffs rolled out a weekend so loaded with talent, it felt like a preview of a future CFP roster.

Let’s get straight to who I was most excited about: five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo was on campus.

At 6-foot-7, 283 pounds, the Texas product is a top-10 national prospect who already looks like a Sunday player. Ojo got face time with Coach Prime and came away with photos, conversations, and—if we’re reading between the lines—a real connection. He’s got SEC schools chasing him, but something tells me this visit hit different.

But Ojo wasn’t the only blue-chip in town. Four-star WR Jase Mathews, fresh off a ridiculous junior season in Mississippi (1,100+ yards, 17 touchdowns), also spent time with Prime and WR coach Jason Phillips. Mathews posted his Boulder photos on social media the next morning—a quiet but powerful signal. I don't think recruits just post if they weren’t feeling it. Again, could be reading too much between the lines.

CU even had freshman QB Julian “JuJu” Lewis playing host. That’s right, According to five-star recruit Jake Kruel on the DNVR Buffs Podcast—Lewis, who’s technically still a high schooler himself—brought recruits together at his place for some good old-fashioned bonding.

When your young QB is recruiting and rallying other stars, it says everything about the culture being built.

Local linemen Breck Kolojay (Valor Christian + IMG Academy) and Deacon Schmitt (Windsor High) were also in town. Kolojay is a MaxPreps All-American. Schmitt is a 6-foot-5 beast who could easily anchor a Big 12 offensive line. Both are in-state kids. Landing them would be huge.

Other notables in Boulder this weekend:

Jalen Lott, four-star ATH (Frisco, TX)

KJ Edwards, four-star RB (Carthage, TX)

Jake Kreul, four-star EDGE (IMG Academy)

Gavin Mueller, three-star TE (Illinois)

And of course, Domata Peko Jr., Colorado’s lone class of 2026 commit and the son of D-line coach Domata Peko Sr., was around to represent the Buffs future foundation.

Here’s the bottom line: the weekend was a massive success. Not just because of who visited—but because of how it all felt.

From what I could tell, these were real relationship-building days, with players laughing, connecting, and catching a vision for what Coach Prime is building.

And with most of the Big 12 still sitting at two or three commits, this weekend just gave Colorado a recruiting edge. You can feel the momentum shift.
