At 2-2 and 0-1 in the Big 12 - and with an extremely difficult schedule ahead - Colorado is in need of a big win on Saturday night against No. 25 BYU. The Buffs can ill-afford to drop games at home, not only to keep slim hopes of a Big 12 championship alive, but also just to stay in the bowl picture.
This weekend's matchup against BYU kicks off three consecutive matchups vs. ranked opponents that will likely determine the direction of the remainder of the season.
It's no secret that if Colorado wants to win, it needs star LT Jordan Seaton healthy. He has arguably been the best offensive tackle in college football this season. The sophomore suffered an injury late in the first half in last week's win over Wyoming and did not return to the game. He was seen on the sidelines in street clothes during the second half.
Despite Deion Sanders saying Seaton was "cool" after the game, On3's Pete Nakos reported at the beginning of the week that he was "questionable" for this weekend's game. On Wednesday, Colorado released its initial availability report for the BYU game as per Big 12 rules, and it included some really good news on Seaton's status.
Not only is Seaton no longer "questionable", he's not listed on the report at all.
First availability report of the week for Colorado vs. BYU. Several #cubuffs are out, but no surprises. But RJ Johnson being out and Makari Vickers being doubtful seems to be a problem. pic.twitter.com/Y8RBxO169C

Jordan Seaton is good to go for Colorado vs. BYU
Colorado's availability report is unfortunately lengthy, but there's no player more important to the success of this team than Seaton. He brings power to the ground game, but he's also the best pass-blocking offensive tackle in college football this season, according to PFF grades.
Seaton protecting the blindside gives Kaidon Salter more confidence at QB. Salter had a terrific game against Wyoming, which he will be looking to carry over against a physical BYU attack. The Cougars manhandled the Buffaloes in last season's Alamo Bowl, and Deion Sanders will be hoping to flip the script on Saturday night in Boulder.
It's not a "get back" game, but it could be a "get right" game for Colorado. A win over No. 25 BYU would serve as notice that the Buffs aren't going to go quietly in the Big 12 race. A loss would put them back below .500 and raise questions about this team's ability to even reach bowl eligibility.
Colorado's ability to win this game got a major boost with Seaton being good to go.
