Could "Prime Time" make its way to Sin City? There are rumblings it's possible.
Sporting News's Vinnie Iyer tabbed Deion Sanders as one of the Las Vegas Raiders' potential Antonio Pierce replacements ahead of the 2025 season -- proposing Coach Prime overseeing his son, Shedeur Sanders, and his Heisman winner, Travis Hunter, after accepting an offer he can't refuse from new minority owner Tom Brady and longtime Raider figurehead Mark Davis.
"Sanders is trying to work some NFL mojo with Pierce regarding his top two prospects, cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter and son/quarterback Shedeur Sanders. But he is also trying to make the jump with one or both of them on his team in the NFL? No on will be shocked should Brady and Davis make Sanders an offer he can't refuse," Iyer wrote.
Sanders taking the Raiders job, even with a perfect scenario like the one Iyer proposed, would be an awful look for several reasons.
For one, Sanders has told anyone that'd listen that he's not a "baby daddy" who follows his kids, but a father who leads them. It'd be the kind of about-face he'd get trolled for during the entirety of his hypoethetical Raiders tenure.
Secondly, a video of Sanders asking Pierce to draft his sons from the 2024 Super Bowl just went viral. Sanders would look like an insidious backstabber if he ended up taking Pierce's job and doing that himself.
Coach Prime is probably sticking around Boulder, but this situation is definitely a scary one to think about.
