The whole College Football world is waiting with bated breath to witness Travis Hunter lift the Heisman Trophy on Saturday, one that he has been the constant unanimous favorite for the past few weeks.
If Hunter's name is said on Lincoln Center's stage, the trailblazing two-way star will create history as the first defensive player and two-way player to win the Heisman since 1997 Michigan football's Charles Woodson in 1997.
And that's just speaking about Hunter's accolade for his stellar performance on one side of the ball.
Coming to the other, Hunter has already decorated his shelf (and his resume) as the 2024 Biletnikoff Trophy winner, given to the best wide receiver in College Football.
Hunter was also the 2024 Paul Hornung Award recipient for being the most versatile player in the College Football landscape for the second time in a row, etching history in the Paul Hornung Award's record book too.
The last time a defensive player, Charles Woodson, won the Heisman, he blitzed right ahead of the top College Football QB of that time, Peyton Manning.
Hunter also swiftly overtook every top QB in the College Football landscape this season, like his Heisman co-finalists Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, Miami QB Cam Ward, and even his teammate, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders; who some feel was snubbed from the Heisman stage along with Arizona State running back Cameron Skattebo.
Hunter has 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns in Colorado's 12 games this season. The Buffs went 9-3 and are set to face BYU in the Alamo Bowl.
