Omarion Miller is head to Arizona State
Miller appears to be following in the footsteps of former Colorado wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, who transferred to Arizona State after Deion Sanders was appointed head coach.
Tyson is projected to go in the top ten of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, with some mock drafts even projecting him to join former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders on the Cleveland Browns with the sixth overall selection.
According to some fans, Miller is making a lateral move because Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is in the transfer portal.
After Colorado finished the season with a disappointing 3-9 record, it is easy to understand Omarion's decision.
In spite of the musical chairs at the quarterback position, he led the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
A 42-17 loss to Arizona State in late November saw Miller catch three passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Having only one year left of eligibility, it is likely NIL played a big role, but competing for a conference title played a key factor as well.
Arizona State was predicted to finish dead last in the Big 12 preseason media poll in 2024. That team advanced to the College Football Playoffs Quarterfinals, losing in double overtime to Texas.
Even though this past season didn't go as planned due to injuries, the team still managed to win eight games and make it to the Sun Bowl.
Keeping the train rolling at the quarterback position should be no problem with Kenny Dillingham as the head coach.
As for Colorado, Deion Sanders has quickly found replacements for Miller after adding Kamryn Perry and Danny Scudero. The Buffs will see Miller on the schedule next season when they travel to Tempe to face the Sun Devils.
