The 2025 NFL Draft wasn't what any of the Sanders expected, except for maybe Shilo, who signed a free-agency contract after the draft ended. From Deion Sanders projecting his son, former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, to be a top-five pick to seeing him rapidly fall beyond the first, second, third, and fourth rounds, the draft didn't work out quite how they wanted.
However, the young quarterback still got drafted, albeit in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns, who had selected former Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel just two rounds earlier.
Afterwards, Sanders expressed his gratitude, both in person and on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), Sanders said, "Thank you GOD," after being drafted.
One brand, entirely unrelated to college or professional football, had the perfect response to watching Sanders' draft process.
Kentucky Fried Chicken (yes, the popular fried chicken restaurant chain) replied to Sanders' original tweet with an uplifting and motivating message for the quarterback, entirely because of the fact that KFC's mascot is a Colonel whose last name is "Sanders" as well.
The Colonel was rejected 1,009 times before finally landing our famous original recipe. Sometimes all a Sanders needs is a little time to cook. Congrats Shedeur!!

"The Colonel was rejected 1,009 times before finally landing our famous original recipe," KFC wrote. "Sometimes all a Sanders needs is a little time to cook. Congrats Shedeur!!"
Turning an expected, and slightly disappointing, situation into a funny one was the perfect thing for a brand like KFC to do, unlike some people who were pranking players or ripping Sanders apart as he fell farther and farther down the draft board.
Sanders joined the Cleveland quarterback room, alongside Gabriel, which already has three quarterbacks: Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett. To put it lightly, he might be walking into a slight mess, but at least he has KFC on his side.
