The 2024 College Football Playoff field won't look like it did in 2023 because of the turnover at the top of the sport. Of course, it won't look like any previous field given the 12 bids that will be handed out this December.

But it really won't resemble the 2023 field. Mainly because last year's undefeated champion, Michigan, won't be in the mix.

That's not all, though. There's going to be different champions across the sport and there'll be at-large bids that would've never previously been considered with one, two, or perhaps even three losses.

While Colorado will be the talk of the college football world, unfortunately, they won't be vying for a CFP spot. But these 12 teams will:

The SEC and Big Ten champions having top bids isn't a surprise -- and Georgia and Ohio State certainly spend the money to be at the top of the sport -- but FSU being an undefeated champion will somehow figure to be a shock to some who are predicting a fall-off.

Oklahoma State winning the Big 12 is the least sure prediction here, with Kansas State very well having a shot to win it too. Don't count out Utah, who could just miss the field, either.

Tennessee, Texas, Penn State, and LSU can end up in any order truthfully.

Boise State has an away game at Oregon they're unlikely to win, but could impress the College Football Playoff Committee by taking out two formerly Power Conference schools in Oregon State and Wazzu. Tulane has two uphill climb matchups against Kansas State and Oklahoma but running the table otherwise would make their 2024 schedule a committee-pleaser by December.
