FOX Sports' Mike Hill defended being the lone AP Poll voter to give Deion Sanders' Colorado football a vote following Week 1 -- condemning those who are so affected by a vote he deems is harmless as Coach Prime haters.

"There are enough haters of CU Buffs Football of their 'personal' bias of Deion Sanders," Hill wrote on X. "If not, no one would even care if they got an AP preseason vote or after week 1. Who’s it affecting? It just exacerbates their hate & I’m loving it. I also believe (they're) better than expected."

If the Buffs are to be better than expected, they'll have to make adjustments after a Week 1 victory they squeaked out at Folsom Field against North Dakota State. Poor clock management from Shedeur Sanders was almost their undoing in the fourth quarter, and four yards was the difference between a sky-is-falling narrative around Boulder and the uneasiness the team is feeling heading into a pivotal Week 2 clash with Nebraska.

With that said, Hill might not look so foolish following Week 2 if the Buffs can pull off the road upset in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Nebraska running up the score on UTEP is good for Colorado football

Nebraska covering the spread against an overmatched UTEP team -- with freshman QB sensation Dylan Raiola going for 238 yards through the air and two touchdowns in front of a rabid Big Ted Memorial Stadium crowd -- was a total positive for Colorado.

It built up the public perception of the Cornhuskers and moved the betting lines in their favor in juxtaposition with a below-average showing for the Buffs against the Bison.

It made Colorado a more-pronounced David, and Nebraska an even greater Goliath.

But the bigger they are, the harder they call. CU can send a dagger through the hearts of Nebraska's hopes and dreams in their first Big Ten go-round this Saturday; all while increasing the hopes of the Buffs contending for the Big 12 Championship. And anything beyond that.
