Bill Goldberg gave credit to WWE Raw superstar Bron Breakker -- FKA Bronson Rechsteiner, a special teams player-turned-running back at Kennesaw State -- for helping his son, Class of 2024 Colorado football PWO Gage Goldberg, become a Division I prospect.

“Love him," Bill Goldberg said of Breakker on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast (h/t Essentially Sports). "He had my tattoo. I think at some point he had to cover it up and change it. They tried to mold him after me a bit at the training facility. We had conversations throughout. We’re pretty close. He helped out a lot with Gage. He went through something very similar. It was a walk-on and then went as a free agent to Baltimore.”

The man they call Goldberg hinted at Gage eventually becoming a WWE superstar himself.

“It’s highly possible that that will hopefully be an option for him," Bill Goldberg said.“I do believe it’s inbred in him to have the love and passion for sports. The physicality of football, the physicality of playing catcher, and wrestling. They’re all the same, and it’s all about opportunities. I want him to follow his dream."

Gage Goldberg not expected to play much for Colorado football

Perhaps things change, but Gage isn't projected to have any substantial role with the Buffs in 2024 and beyond. It's obvious that his future is in the pro wrestling business -- with WWE likely the only option given Bill Goldberg's repeated criticisms of AEW owner Tony Khan.

His recruitment journey resulting in his commitment to Colorado is the most significant football-related thing Gage may end up doing in his collegiate career.

If Gage gets even one tackle this season, though, you best believe it'll be edited into videos with one of his father's debilitating spears. Pro wrestling fans love viral trends like few other fanbases; especially when it involves them.
