Cam Newton doesn't believe in the hype Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders generated during his debut season in Boulder, at least not like Shedeur's father, Deion Sanders, has -- revealing as much during an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe.

According to "Superman," the "Grown QB" isn't worthy of a top-four overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft; a vast disagreement with Coach Prime, who sees his son as a likely top-two pick along with teammate Travis Hunter.

"I don’t think he’ll be a Top 4 pick," Newton said.

Interestingly enough, Newton has much different feelings about one of Shedeur's top weapons on offense and the leader of the Buffs' defense.

Cam Newton couldn't be higher on two-way Colorado football star Travis Hunter

Newton does believe all the Hunter hype, believing that Colorado's No. 12 is worthy of being a No. 1 overall pick and potentially a future Hall-of-Famer once his NFL career is done.

The former Heisman-winning quarterback at Auburn in 2010 compared Hunter's potential impact to two Miami Dolphins stars: wide receiver Tyreek Hill and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

“We’ve never seen that happen, and will he play both ways in the NFL? It’s hard to cover a guy like Tyreek Hill and then turn around and get covered by a Jalen Ramsey," Newton said (h/t BuffsBeat). “Go on and get measured. Get measured for your jacket. Go on and get measured for your gold jacket.”

Newton, a former NFL MVP, knows firsthand what makes a player great at any level. He has intimate knowledge of Shedeur's and Hunter's two positions. His opinion isn't the be all, end all, but it could bode well for Hunter.

As for Shedeur, the "Grown QB" could just be like Brock Purdy and respond to Newton's doubt with success.
