Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders' daughter, Shelomi, has remained dedicated to the team despite a lack of playing time on JR Payne's Buffs as Essentially Sports's Jenifer Martin.

"Shelomi Sanders’ 'right time' with the Colorado Buffaloes is yet to come, but that hasn’t taken away from her dedication to doing her best for the team," Martin prefaced before saying, "Despite not extensively participating in the historic win, she remains a valued and loved member of the Buffs. At the end of the day, basketball is all about having that chemistry with your team."

Shelomi has played just 11 minutes in five games thus far in her two seasons in Boulder -- she joined the Buffs midway through the 2022-23 season, but she hasn't pressed Payne at all about her role; as the CU women's basketball head coach revealed back in October.

“Well, she hasn’t been really bossy with us,” Payne said when asked about Shelomi's nickname (h/t KDVR). “But Shelomi is doing great. Shelomi came in the middle of the year last year, which is always difficult to transfer from one program to another. And the team loved her immediately. She’s got a great personality. She works hard. She brings life to the party on a daily basis, so to speak.”

Coach Prime, Pilar Sanders, and Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders 'part of broader narrative of family support' for Shelomi

As Essentially Sports' Soheli Tarafdar points out, Shelomi's Buffs career has been supported by her parents, Coach Prime and Pilar Sanders, as well as her older brother, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, during the 2023-24 CU women's basketball season.

"The Colorado women’s basketball stands have witnessed more than just Sanders’ exuberant cheers in this season," Tarafdar prefaced before saying, "It transpired into a family union as Deion’s son, Shedeur and ex-wife Pilar have also been part of the collective celebration. The unity among the Sanders family members showcased a broader narrative of family support."

The Sanders family, whether its members are putting up some of the best numbers in the country under center on the gridiron, or waiting for an opportunity on the hardwood, support their own no matter what.
