Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders was asked about Chicago Sky star Angel Reese at Big 12 media days, and his answer revealed a great deal of respect for the 2024 WNBA draft's No. 7 overall pick.

"Yeah, I like how she has handled it a lot," Sanders said (h/t AthlonSports). "The majority of her stuff, I like how she handles. She's doing a good job. She's taking advantage of the situation that she's in and I'm excited and I'm proud of her for that."

Reese has been part of the WNBA's surge into the sports limelight this summer; putting the league on the map with fellow rookie sensation Caitlin Clark and allowing long-time stars like A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, and Kelsey Plum an even bigger audience.

Shedeur, like Reese, quickly became a star in the NIL era of college sports. It's not the biggest shock that he'd be appreciative of her rise -- and how said rise is going.

Shedeur Sanders strongly suggests Julian Lewis is coming to Colorado football

Reese wasn't the only young prodigy Shedeur spoke about at Big 12 media days. The "Grown QB" also spoke highly of coveted 2025 QB recruit Julian Lewis, who Shedeur hopes replaces him under center at CU next season.

"You know, Julian coming, he may be able to take over the reins, but I wouldn't be mad at that," Sanders told BuffsBeat's Kris Miller. "Whoever is the next quarterback, it should be Julian, but he'll be like his new son."

Sanders certainly didn't do much to recruit any other QB, but the focus on Lewis gives a strong indication that the Carrollton star is firmly within reach for the Buffs. Otherwise, it's a bad look for Shedeur to downplay any alternative who could end up in as QB1 instead in 2025.
