Colorado football is the only program in the country with a legitimate chance of flipping Carrollton (GA) quarterback Julian Lewis from Lincoln Riley and USC according to On3's Phillip Dukes; though Dukes is not convinced Lewis is for sure leaving Los Angeles.

"If I had to make a bet right now, Colorado has a lot of momentum when it comes to Julian Lewis," Dukes said on the On3 Recruits channel. "I think things are getting real there. I don't think you're going to see a lot of pomp and circumstance around it. I think you're going to look up one day and you're going to see Julian Lewis in a black and gold jersey.

"Since we're talking about a flip show, I think USC has also been doing a really good job as far as staving off the field and I don't think the Lewis family is the type of family that would play around if they knew that they were already going to Colorado so at this point I do think he is still committed to USC -- but I think Colorado has a ton of momentum right now."

Julian Lewis commitment could end persistent Deion Sanders-leaving-Colorado football rumors

FOX Sports' RJ Young believes that Lewis's commitment to Colorado would end the persistent rumors of Coach Prime leaving Boulder before the end of his current five-year contract.

"We have folks that believe that Coach Prime has no reason to stay at Colorado once Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are gone to the NFL. I think there's some credence to that because Prime got into coaching to coach his boys," Young said. "He watched them play in Little League. He didn't like the way the coach was coaching them [and] thought he was going to get them hurt. He found himself getting up out of his chair more often than not to go to correct something or to help, and before you know it, he's coaching the teams. And he did that in high school at Trinity, and he did that at Jackson State, and now he's done it at Colorado. Everywhere that they have gone, he has gone, so if you think that he would follow them to the NFL, you got a point given what we've seen in the past.

"I think that a JuJu Lewis could help put down all of that and be like ‘nah, nah, nah, he has a five-star quarterback coming in as an heir apparent to Shedeur, who has the goods to play right away.'"

What's funny is that the latest rumor, one with reportedly no merit and shared by Paul Finebaum, is Sanders leaving Colorado for USC -- where Lewis is currently committed. There will be no coaching trade between the Buffs and Trojans, but people would stop talking about it altogether if Lewis decided on CU.

And that'd be the biggest win for Colorado of all.
