Deion Sanders credited for Colorado football team's exemplary academic performance
Deion Sanders was credited for his Colorado football team's exemplary academic performance by CU’s Director of Academics and Student Success Kris Livingston; who described how fierce Coach Prime is when his players aren't performing in the classroom.
“How the football team performs dramatically impacts our overall score," Livingston said (h/t BuffsBeat). “Coach Prime is heavily involved. We meet with position coaches every two weeks and give a progress report. Guys that are struggling? They’re in Coach Prime’s office immediately."
Livingston gave significant credit to Colorado's AD, Rick George.
“We’re lucky to get tremendous support from key constituents," Livingston prefaced before saying, "From the chancellor, provost, athletic director, coaches and faculty, CU Academics gets tremendous support. Think about it. When he was hired in 2012, we had the 100-year flood, then the pandemic and its constant changing of rules and precautions. It was crazy. Rick led us in navigating through that crazy time.”
Deion Sanders a leader off the field for Colorado football in ways he doesn't get credit for
Everyone is on Coach Prime's case for not being present on the recruiting trail despite his ailing health in recent years, but no one is going to mention how he's helping young men be the best student-athletes they can be.
That is the point of attending a school like the University of Colorado Boulder right? To get a good education?
Sanders has intentions of making CU an NFL factory, but in order to even remain in charge at a school like that, his players need to prove they're not just there to take up scholarship spots. Evidently, his Buffs are there to learn too.
Players have been called out and made a spectacle for not respecting their academics. That's the part of "Prime Time" the haters refuse to give a spotlight to.
