Deion Sanders and USC deemed a match made in college football heaven

Deion Sanders and USC have been mentioned in the same breath repeatedly recently, with Paul Finebaum stoking the flames by floating Coach Prime as a Lincoln Riley replacement in Los Angeles.

OutKick's Dan Zaksheske agreed, and took the idea a step further by claiming that Sanders and the Trojans would be a "match made in college football heaven."

"USC is a storied program that hasn't had a ton of success over the past 15 years," Zaksheske wrote. "They won three-straight Rose Bowls under Pete Carroll from 2006-08. They've won one Rose Bowl since. In fact, they have three bowls wins total since 2008 and three of those wins were in the Holiday Bowl.

"That's not what USC expects. That's not what Deion Sanders, a.k.a. 'Prime Time,' expects, either. It's a match made in college football heaven. And, quite frankly, a match made in content creation heaven."

Content creation would certainly take on a new life of its own in the City of Angels, and he would be able to host endless local recruits on campus since traveling to see recruits isn't something he does all too often.

Julian Lewis is already committed to USC, too. Lewis is seen as the potential savor for Coach Prime's first season without his son Shedeur under center in 2025. It'd be an easy transition to have the guy he wants anyway.

But the talk is premature. Riley isn't on the hot seat, not yet anyway, and Sanders has been consistent in his messaging about sticking with the Buffs for five to 10 years.

Deion Sanders would have a different job description at USC than Colorado

Colorado doesn't overextend Sanders given his health issues and, well, beggars can't be choosers, and the Buffs are in no position to make high demands out of such a major name in the sport given their recent history.

USC would be a completely different job given the differences in job requirements. Sanders has it so good at CU that he got a bonus for spreading awareness of the Buffs' brand. The Trojans have no such problem.

If Sanders overperforms in 2024, some think a bigger job could be incoming. But with his family having been offered a full invite to be involved at Colorado, is bigger even better in this case?
