Here is what K-State HC Chris Klieman has planned to foil Colorado football in Week 7
Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman has a precarious task on his hands in Week 7: the Colorado football program. This Saturday, the two powerhouses will battle it out in an all-important game for the Big 12 title picture.
With both teams coming refreshed after the bye week, Coach Klieman put on his analytical hat and came up with a calculated strategy to face a 4-1 CU.
"For us, we have got to come up with a really good plan on defense and we're just starting that now. But we have to come up with a great plan to have a chance to try at least control him a little bit," Klieman said in his press conference.
Klieman is a good coach and there's no doubt about that. But he knows that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter make Colorado a live threat.
That's precisely why this game is expected to be just the same as the previous ones: an absolute down-to-the-wire roller coaster. Not only that, it would also be a perfect chance for Colorado to build their reputation further in the game by bringing down a top-20 team.
Kansas State ranked among AP's Top 25 Week 7 teams
The AP's Week 7 rankings are out and Kansas State continues to boast a spot on the list. The AP poll ranked Klieman's team at no.18, a rank which was tied with two other teams, Indiana and Oklahoma.
Colorado, on the other hand, is still not in the AP Top 25 poll. Which makes this another good chance for them to try and get there.
Now, if Kansas State loses this one, it might hurt their AP poll rankings -- possibly dragging them out of the top 25 altogether -- and even get them completely off the board next week, depending on how the game goes.
