Paul Finebaum nods his head in support of Shedeur with Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith
The universe has its sense of humor, and Shannon Sharpe felt it in his core -- he could barely hold his laugh in -- when his co-guest, Paul Finebaum, backed Shedeur Sanders during ESPN's "First Take."
Finebaum, who has earned the reputation of being an ardent Deion Sanders critic, left everyone puzzled, and then shocked, with his answer to Molly Qerim's question about Shedeur not shaking hands with CSU QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi.
"The quarterback trash-talked all week, and Shedeur shut his mouth up," Finebaum said. "And it’s over. I think he did the right thing.”
Surprise, surprise! Agreeing with him fully, Shannon Sharpe also condemned all the trash-talking before the game on camera.
"You know we have the heart to contend the battle," Sharpe wrote. "We go to the middle of the field, we shake hands, good luck wish you the best moving forward. But not after you tak crazy to me. I ain't shaking your hand. I would be talking whole game, first of all, because you brought it to me."
Stephen A. Smith joined in with his part as he put the Rams back in their place.
"First of all, they beat you last year," Smith said. "Secondly, not only did they beat you last year, you were going up against them this year, and you were really, really trying to question the character of the pro players and the character of those individuals."
Wrapping things up in Shedeur's defense, Stephen A finished his rant with, "And when I saw what they said, nah, we're not shaking hands."
Paul Finebaum is sowing no signs of stopping with his criticism of Deion Sanders
We all know it, hardly anyone has bashed the Colorado football program under the leadership of Deion Sanders as brutally as Finebaum -- from calling the whole Colorado program "irrelevant," to even predicting that Deion will leave Colorado after an unfortunate loss in Week 2.
Even now, Finebaum is showing no signs of stopping his criticism of Coach Prime anytime soon. He even called Sanders' bold move of speaking up against the criticism of college football players in his latest press conference. Finebaum did not hesitate to call the move "spineless."
Safe to say, Finebaum is a tough one to decode for Colorado.
