Shedeur Sanders, LaJohntay Wester saved Will Sheppard from the Colorado football fanbase's wrath in win over Baylor
Shedeur Sanders and LaJohntay Wester connecting on the game-tying touchdown with two seconds left on the clock saved Will Sheppard -- who dropped a potential game-winning TD the play right before it -- from the Colorado football fanbase after a 38-31 OT win over Baylor for the Buffs.
The number of highlight reel moments from this game are endless. Shedeur, despite being sacked eight times, found the end zone with his legs and had several big runs; showing off a new dynamic in some RPO sets. He also found Wester and Omarrion Miller for TDs while throwing a TD pass that wasn't complete to Sheppard. No. 2, as always, was a highlight.
But Wester catching that pass immediately after Sheppard's drop made him a Boulder legend too. Sheppard nearly became the scapegoat for what would've been the most soul-crushing loss of the "Prime Time" era in Boulder. Wester made his drop cinematic rising action instead.
Shedeur Sanders pitched LaJohntay Wester to join him with Colorado football
Wester was who Shedeur was looking for in the offseason. Shedeur personally recruited him, and that recruitment led to his brother joining the family affair in Boulder as well. Against Baylor on the final play of regulation, Wester proved why the "Grown QB" coveted him so much.
The pair's chemistry was evident during one of the most memorable plays in Folsom Field's history.
Wester is a hero, Shedeur is a surefire NFL draft pick and Sheppard is the happiest man in Boulder, Colorado.
Feel lucky if you got to witness the two-second miracle as it happened.
