Their clash against NDSU was successful for Colorado football on so many levels. Opening their season with a massive win featured a bonus for Deion Sanders and Co: the players giving a taste of what they have forged out of themselves this offseason and Jimmy Horn Jr. proving he is an NFL draft prospect.

The WR flying past the NDSU defense to reach a 69-yard TD in the 2nd & 5 left the spectators in awe of his speed and pass-catching skills. So much so that he quickly caught the eyes of the scouting agents and even got the talks of him being a top-10 WR pick in the 2025 NFL draft brewing up.

NFL Rookie Watch reported that Horn Jr. is "starting to emerge as a Top-10 WR in college football and a top 2025 NFL Draft prospect" and even that he could "translate just like Garrett Wilson at the NFL level."

The star receiver of the NDSU clash hauled in seven receptions for 198 yards and one touchdown, leading his team in the receptions and yardage department. His 69-yard TD catch from QB Shedeur Sanders stole the show. No Bison defender had a chance of tracking him down after the catch.

NDSU and Colorado football: A tug of war for dominance

CU and Bisons' tussle to get on top of the scoreboard on Thursday was a tough fight. The Buffs took an early 7-3 lead against North Dakota State sending all the Buffs fans at the Folsom Field in an overdrive.

North Dakota State's Joe Stoffel responded promptly with a 7-yard TD catch but soon after Horn followed up with his iconic 69-yard TD, getting Colorado's dominance back.

The game was just a teaser by the Buffs squad on how they have bolstered their offense. The QB Sanders got sacked just once this time, which is a good starting point for the Buffs offense -- he got sacked 52 times (the most in the country) last season. Yet, the revamped O-line is still a work in progress with all the fresh faces settling in.

Sanders threw for 445 yards on 34 pass attempts vs. North Dakota State on Thursday. If the Buffs want to carry on the win streak, however (and not repeat history), the QB will need to up those numbers and open up more against Nebraska, which is expected to be an even tougher battle for Colorado.
