Shilo Sanders Week 6 injury update: Will Colorado safety play Kansas State to keep his word?
Remember a few weeks back, Shilo Sanders made a promise to return if his video hit 200k views?
Looks like Shilo's keeping his word.
Per Deion Sanders Jr.'s update, Shilo is back on the field after his forearm surgery. Well Off Media spotted Shilo participating in practice drills with the rest of the CU defense. Sanders' status, however, remains injured as he sported a yellow jersey during the training sessions.
Regardless, their safety is back on the field in just three weeks after suffering a critical injury is nothing less than a miracle, especially since the injury takes a while to heal. MD Joshua D. Harris, who conducted a study on 33 NFL athletes concluded that ORIF surgery (forearm fractures) took approximately 152.1 days to recover.
Keep in mind, this forearm injury follows an offseason of recovering from a shoulder injury from an off-field incident.
Shilo is recovered enough to attend practice, but is he recovered enough to play against Kansas? Deion Sanders has an answer for it.
Deion Sanders' updated timeline for Shilo Sanders
CU head coach Deion Sanders confirmed the safety's speedy recovery on Tuesday.
"Shilo is on pace to be back," Prime said.
"I'm not going to count out this week (vs. UCF). I'm not going to count that out but if he holds off this week, that'll give him two more weeks which is pretty smart."
The K-State clash is two weeks away. Looking at the timeline given by Prime, fans can expect Shilo to resume his safety duties in their showdown against the Wildcats.
