Colorado football star Shedeur Sanders' invitation for any Alabama player to join him in Boulder after Nick Saban announced his retirement on January 10 was something FanSided's Scott Rogust sees as fitting the bill on how to build a championship-winning FBS squad.

"When it comes to the potential players entering the transfer portal, there is one name that has seemingly entered recruiting mode," Rogust prefaced before saying, "Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders sent out a post on Twitter (or X) that read, 'Alabama players tap [in].' complete with eyeball emojis.

"One way to help build a winning team is to poach some talent from some of the top programs in the country. Alabama certainly fits the bill."

Colorado football head coach Deion Sanders sends message of his own to Alabama players

Shedeur's father, Coach Prime, also had a message for Alabama players; though his message was of a dramatically different tone than his son's.

"We will see the stability of the players tested on both sides: the players at Alabama, who are devastated and in shock after losing the greatest coach of all time, and the players who will be shocked in the coming days when they lose their coach to Alabama," Deion Sanders said in a statement to 247Sports' Carl Reed Jr. "When looking at both sides of this coin, you have to be a winner and understand clearly the responsibility that comes with that. You also must consider whether you can handle the moments of the stage you privately desire, or the pressure of the monument that Coach Saban has established."

While Saban is sticking around in Tuscaloosa, even maintaining an office on campus, the players he recruited won't be getting what they signed up for. The 30-day period has already begun for Crimson Tide players to find new homes via the transfer portal, and many have already found new homes.
