Travis Hunter is believed to be willing to ignore Deion Sanders' 2025 NFL draft demands that his sons, Shilo and Shedeur, and the two-way Colorado football star play for the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens, and Atlanta Falcons according to Essentially Sports' Jeevesh Singh.
"On the 9th of June Livestream of YouTuber ‘princjmg’, ANGELKNOWS, and Travis Hunter all joined together to play a 3v3 game in Madden 25," Singh prefaced before saying, "While Prince chose to pick the Dallas Cowboys, Hunter and Angel picked the New England Patriots, something that the fans interpret as a sign of his NFL future."
Hunter was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and attended high school in Suwanee Georgia at Collins Hill. Being a New England Patriots fan is out of left field, but given how close Tom Brady has been to the Buffs via his mentorship of Shedeur Sanders, perhaps the TB12 effect has reached Hunter. Or it could be as simple as Hunter wanting to play as his former Jackson State teammate Isaiah Bolden, who was drafted by New England in 2023.
Colorado football stars unlikely to abide by demand Deion Sanders has already gone back on
Coach Prime may have understood that making NFL draft demands for players coming from a 4-8 team a year in advance are probably premature and potentially damaging. Sanders went back on his word, denying he ever said anything about his sons and Hunter needing to go to specific franchises.
If Hunter doesn't abide by the "going to be an Eli" powerplay Sanders once proposed for his sons -- meaning they'd refuse to play for teams not on his approved list -- it'll be because it was never an edict worth entertaining.
It probably won't be because Hunter chose the Patriots in a game of Madden 25.
