Whether or not Deion Sanders and his Colorado football defensive and special teams staffs will decide to give Travis Hunter a chance to be a PK in 2024 is unclear after the two-way star told YouTuber Donald De La Haye AKA Deestroying he wants a shot to kick a PAT, but BuffsBeat's Josh Tolle wasn't dismissive of the idea.

"At this point, we'll have to wait and see if Hunter's request to kick will be granted by Coach Prime and his staff," Tolle prefaced before saying, "Even on a temporary or emergency basis, knowing he can do it would add another dimension to his game."

A PAT is a small enough goal for Coach Prime to dole out to Hunter in a blowout game. As for what games could be blowouts in 2024? Not even a matchup against FCS North Dakota State looks like a guarantee. But such a chance could arise in a game CU isn't given much of a chance in.

Buffs CB coach Kevin Mathis implied Hunter would be utilized as a nickel during the 2024 season.

“He’s been playing the majority inside and when we can have him do that and be strong and outside with Preston (Hodge) and DJ (McKinney), it’s gonna be a sight to see and we are excited about that,” Mathis said (h/t Times-Call).

“There’s not gonna be a lot of (players like Hunter) come around. He’s able to get in there naturally (at nickel) and just play well. And he’s able to go in and if we need him in the B gap (to help stop the run), as you’ve seen a couple of times today, he was able to fill that B gap. A lot of nickels really don’t want to do that, but he’s able to do that.”

Playing multiple positions in the secondary to appeal to as many NFL franchises as possible is a smart career move, but kicking a PAT is more of a fun goal that could make the two (three? four?) way star go even more viral during the 2024 season.

There's a good chance he does it all successfully anyway. That's the caliber of talent an NFL team will have the chance to draft next April.
