Travis Hunter pulls off EA Sports College Football 25 'glitch' catch for third TD against North Dakota State
Travis Hunter made what ESPN play-by-play commentator Roddy Jones called a "glitch" catch in the EA Sports College Football 25 video game in the fourth quarter of Colorado's Week 1 matchup against North Dakota State.
Hunter, despite being harassed by Bison corner Jailen Duffie and a flag being thrown on the play, caught his third touchdown on the night next to the pylon.
JJ Watt agreed with Jones' call, saying, "What a great way to describe that Travis Hunter catch" on Twitter.
LeBron James tweeted out in all caps to share his excitement.
The play was the exclamation point on a night where social media became convinced Hunter is a Heisman candidate.
Twitter is ready to hand Travis Hunter the Heisman already
After an offseason of criticizing Deion Sanders and how he handled the media, many became believers in his Buffs on August 29. Of course, Hunter and Shedeur Sanders shared 99% of that praise.
ESPN's Heather Dinich believes Hunter deserves Heisman consideration regardless of where Colorado ends up in the standings.
"If Travis Hunter keeps this up all season, he should be in Heisman convo regardless of record," Dinich said.
SELU color commentator Lucas Hill believes Hunter is a Heisman finalist if healthy and even went as far as to say Shedeur can lead a Big 12 contender if the offensive line holds up in front of him.
"Overall review of Colorado/NDSU game so far: 1. Travis Hunter will be a Heisman finalist, IF he stays healthy. 2. Shedeur Sanders with a better offensive line will give Colorado a chance to contend in the Big 12. 3. NDSU still can play with the big boys in the power four," Hill said.
NBC Sports' Nicole Auerbach already thinks Hunter has done what it takes to be considered a Heisman candidate.
"Travis Hunter is already doing all the things he needs to do to be in the mix for the Heisman Trophy," Auerbach said.
Making catches like Hunter did in the fourth quarter will stick with Heisman voters. It's gravy that the EA Sports College Football 25 cover star was able to get ESPN's commentary booth to throw the game a shoutout.
