Two-way Colorado football star Travis Hunter predicted to be No. 2 CB in EA Sports College Football 25
Two-way Colorado football star Travis Hunter was predicted by Mike Farrell Sports' Skeeter Smith to be the No. 2-ranked cornerback in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game behind Michigan's Will Johnson.
Hunter was also ranked a top-five receiver by Smith and predicted to have the second-highest rating on that side of the ball.
"Is there anything Travis Hunter can’t do? Already cracking the top five receiver list, Hunter makes his appearance again on the defensive side of the ball at corner, which many believe to be his better position," Smith prefaced before saying, "Due to his versatility on both sides of the ball, Hunter was a consensus All-Purpose All-American in 2023. For Hunter, it’s his unreal instincts combined with elite athleticism that makes him one of the best DBs in the country."
Johnson got the nod because of his high-profile lockdowns of WR1s from top-10 programs in the country who'd go on to be top 10 NFL draft picks in 2024.
"There have been few, if any, corners better than Will Johnson in the last two seasons of college football," Smith wrote. "Johnson was more than impressive in 2023, showcasing his lockdown ability against first-round picks such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze. He was awarded first-team All-Big Ten and listed as an All-American by many publishers. Will Johnson has all the intangibles of a lockdown corner. He has great size, athleticism, and length, along with excellent ball skills and instincts."
Two-way Colorado football star Travis Hunter will be a cheat code in EA Sports College Football 25
As a cover athlete for the game, you can expect Hunter to be one of, if not the, best player to use in the open field. Hunter's speed earned him that, and the catch animations before that will be off the wall.
EA got to spend time with Hunter personally. They're not going to make him a slouch. Expect Hunter to be a cheat code in every sense of the phrase this July.
