There's a prevalent rumor that Deion Sanders can join the Dallas Cowboys, and naturally, Raiders beat writers are wondering what that means for Las Vegas; the franchise most frequently linked to Coach Prime's son, Shedeur.
Just Blog Baby's Austin Boyd made the Deion-to-Vegas connection, but he was unimpressed with the Raiders' intentions behind it -- and sounded entirely dismissive of the idea Coach Prime would translate to the NFL.
"If the Raiders fire Pierce, they're likely going to want to go after a big name to replace him. There may not be a bigger name in football than Deion Sanders. There's no doubt that if he makes the jump to the NFL he's going to force Shedeur to his team," Boyd wrote.
"The Raiders might be the only team desperate enough to make a move like this. It's hard to imagine it would work well. Deion Sanders has done well as a college coach but it's hard to imagine professionals buying into his coaching style. A more ideal situation for the Raiders would be to pair Shedeur Sanders with a bright, young offensive mind who can develop him into an elite quarterback."
Deion Sanders said he's a father, not a 'baby daddy,' doesn't want to follow his kids to the NFL
Coach Prime has made his stance on following Shedeur, Shilo, or Travis Hunter to the NFL clear as day: he's not going. As Sanders said, he's a father, not a "baby daddy."
"I'm a leader of men, not a follower of men," Sanders stated (h/t On SI). "I'm a father, not a baby daddy. I lead my sons, I don't follow my sons."
It's tough to see a proud man like Coach Prime go back on such strong words. Especially when Julian Lewis's commitment is likely imminent.
