Robert Griffin III may have dropped a truth bomb on his show "Outta Pocket with RGIII."
Many Buffs fans may be upset with him on this, but his recent take on Shedeur Sanders and the Browns QB room, may not be so out-of-the-pocket as we may think.
On his show, he started out by saying that the Cleveland Browns may have just set up Shedeur to fail. And if you look at the roster, it’s hard to argue against him.
Let’s lay it out. The Browns gave Deshaun Watson $230 million, and he might not even play. They brought in Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco. Traded for Kenny Pickett. Drafted Dillon Gabriel in the third round. Then, finally, they took Shedeur Sanders in the fifth.
And guess who’s the most talked about of them all?
Shedeur is the headline. His jersey is the top seller among all rookies. He’s the fan favorite. He’s doing community work in Cleveland before even stepping on the field. But here’s the problem—he’s QB4.
As RG3 said, Shedeur is likely to get the fewest reps in camp, the least attention from coaches, and the worst protection in the preseason. He’ll be out there throwing to guys who might not even be in the NFL by Week 1. In his words: cab drivers. And yet he’s supposed to prove he belongs on the 53-man roster?
That’s not just an uphill battle—that’s climbing Mt. Everest without boots.
But here’s the thing Colorado fans already know: Shedeur is the most accurate QB in NCAA history. He turned a program from one-win to nine in just two seasons. He's exactly what Cleveland needs. A culture changer.
He had less talent around him at Jackson State. He had less protection at Colorado. And he still succeeded. That’s what might make this different.
RG3’s message was clear: this is a setup for failure—but I think, if anyone is built for it, it's Shedeur.
