Shedeur Sanders didn’t need a football to show off his timing.

The former Colorado quarterback joined Cooper Manning, father of Texas quarterback Arch Manning, for a fishing segment on FOX’s “The Manning Hour.” What followed was a dockside conversation that bounced from Coach Prime’s fishing habits to fashion advice, trust funds and a harmonica joke Sanders wasn’t quite ready to let go.

“Just two old friends fishing on the dock,” Manning said.

“What more could you ask for?” Sanders replied. “This is what we all work for, ain’t it?”

For Colorado fans who watched Sanders handle the spotlight in Boulder and in his first two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, the segment offered a familiar glimpse of his personality. Manning supplied the setups, and Sanders had little trouble finding an opening. It was just some fun and yucks from two people from very famous families.

One of the best moments came when Manning asked Sanders to evaluate his appearance. After declaring that they were both young and famous, Manning wanted help developing a new look.

Shedeur took a diplomatic approach before delivering his assessment.

“I think it’s fine,” he said. “The more financially set you are, the less you match.”

That set the tone for the conversation, with Manning leaning into the absurdity while Sanders played along and occasionally delivered the better punchline.

When Manning said he had three children and was looking to get rid of two, he asked whether Sanders was interested.

“Does it come with a trust fund?” Sanders asked.

“Yes,” Manning answered.

“Oh, it’s a package deal.”

Deion Sanders also worked his way into the conversation. Shedeur said his father taught him how to fish, prompting Manning to ask whether he had ever seen someone fish while wearing a life preserver.

Later, a playful ranking of people named Sanders led Shedeur to mention “Deion,” a name that sounded unusual coming from his own mouth.

“I mean, cuz I don’t really call him by his first name,” he said of Coach Prime..

The conversation between the two eventually turned to music. Sanders said he makes it for fun but offered a clear boundary when asked about returning to the studio.

“Studio closed during the season.”

Manning countered with a story about his own harmonica band, called “Out of Tune.” Sanders kept mistakenly answering “Autotune,” stretching the exchange into another running joke.

There wasn’t much football analysis on the dock. There didn’t need to be.
