Shedeur Sanders made a very interesting comment on his NFL future at the East-West Shrine Bowl on Thursday. The "Grown QB" claimed he'd be playing at AT&T Stadium, "Jerry World" if you will, in the future as an opponent.
"Being in this stadium is definitely fun," Sanders said, per 247 Sports. "I know I'll play here very soon against the Cowboys. But no, it's definitely a dream come true being able to be at this bowl game, watching my brothers out there, watching my teammates out there. Being a part of this whole thing. I'm just thankful."
Most believe this was Shedeur predicting going to the NY Giants. It comes off the heels of the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard linking his father, Deion Sanders, to Big Blue -- since the GMen would potentially consider hiring Coach Prime if they draft Shedeur.
"If the Giants draft Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the NFL Draft’s first round this April, his father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, would immediately become a candidate to be the Giants’ next head coach," Leonard wrote.
"It’s a simple connecting of dots:
"Brian Daboll is on borrowed time entering his fourth Giants season, with John Mara asking him to give up offensive play-calling while Mara was simultaneously praising GM Joe Schoen’s process coming off a 3-14 season."
"Prime Time" in New York is a box office dream for the NFL. Especially since that'd make Coach Prime de facto blood rivals with Jerry Jones' Cowboys.
Shedeur would benefit from all the off-field opportunities in New York as a celebrity athlete and his father would be the toast of the world if he set up shop in NYC.
Could this have been Shedeur letting the world prepare accordingly? It certainly reads that way.
