Shedeur Sanders is happier than anyone that Colorado football is entering their second and final bye week of the 2024 season. The "Grown QB" was hobbling on the sidelines in the third quarter with what turned out to be a hip injury during a 34-23 bowl-clinching win over Cincinnati.

"Get healthy," Sanders said postgame when asked what his plan was until the Buffs take on Texas Tech in Lubbock (h/t DNVR's Scott Procter). "The bye week couldn't have come at a better week. I'm a little banged up right now."

ESPN sideline reporter Quint Kessenich provided an update on Shedeur's injury during the October 26 broadcast.

“Looks like they’re treating his left hip. Like a left hip flexor injury type injury. Shedeur came over, hopped on the bike, biked for a bit, stood up, jumped around. Went through his drops. And the rotations. Rotate and throw the football. So, it doesn’t look to be a serious injury,” Kessenich explained (h/t On3).

Shedeur Sanders has been ideal Colorado football teammate to Travis Hunter

Shedeur has been an ideal teammate to Travis Hunter, who has much better odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Shedeur hasn't tried to dial up the hype on his own candidacy but instead embraced No. 12.

Coach Prime has given his props to his son for being all-in supporting Hunter.

"[Shedeur] couldn't care less, he ain't thinking about no Heisman...Now, Travis is the best college football player in the country – we all know that," Deion Sanders said postgame (h/t FOX Sports). "Why are we even deliberating over that?"

While many are quick to accuse the Sanders family of corrupting Hunter, it looks like they're exalting him instead. Hunter has come into his own under Coach Prime, and he now looks like the sure-fire No. 1 overall NFL draft pick.
