The Tennessee Titans are sparing no expense to get a good look at Colorado Buffaloes QB Sheduer Sanders, who’s projected as a top two quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders recently earned the honor of participating in the annual East-West Shrine Bowl in Arlington, Texas, which will take place next week. The kicker? His QB coach for this bowl is a Titans coach.

Brian Callahan, the Titans head coach, sung high praises for Payton McCollum, a Titans’ offensive assistant who will be serving as Sheduer’s– and the other QB’s– coach for the week.

"The guy that brings probably the most unsung hero-ness is Payton McCollum, who I think people are starting to see a little bit of," Callahan said. "He is a machine. The quality control coaches on every side of the ball are sort of your lifeblood and nobody really understands what they do or how they do it.

"I will say this, when you don't have a really good one, everybody feels the effect of it because things aren't done the way they need to be done. But when you have a really good one, the way the process works is almost seamless because they just handle things. They don't need anybody to tell them what to do. They just do it. They can anticipate problems. [McCollum} is one of the best ones I've been around when it comes to handling it and being on top of it and making sure everyone has what they need. He's a fantastic young coach and he'll get an opportunity to coach here sooner than later, but for what he does and how he does it, he's invaluable to our process."

This new look could prove invaluable to the Titans, as solid QBs are few and far between in this draft. As such, this Titans assistant coach’s extra time with Sheduer could prove to change the draft as we know it.
