The Deion Sanders-FSU rumor is back. You can ignore it again, Colorado football fans

Deion Sanders was linked to FSU again. Barstool Sports' Dan Katz went on the October 22 edition of Andy and Ari On3, questioned if Coach Prime would stick with Colorado football without Shedeur Sanders around, and claimed the Noles would be into the idea of Neon Deion going to his home state and reviving a program in freefall under Mike Norvell.

“Florida State’s in a lot of trouble too, because Mike Norvell,” Big Cat said. “Okay, so I’ll put, I think, Auburn might be, Auburn’s probably second to last. Oklahoma’s last. Auburn second to last, because they’re in a lot of trouble. And the same problem with the SEC, Florida State, not in the SEC. And I know that people will say I’m biased here, but doesn’t it feel like Florida State has the magic bullet if they need it and it’s to just get Deion Sanders?”

“Colorado is a lot better than people think this year. Travis Hunter, I should legally say should be Heisman. I know that he’s got to get a couple more stats going, but I do have a 40-1 ticket on him, so I say it on every show I go on. But I feel like you have that just hanging out there. And I don’t know if Deion would want to go to Florida State. I know there was probably some some bad feelings last time around, when they were had an opening. I don’t know what he’s going to do when Shedeur leaves, all this stuff, but at least you have the hope of, ‘Oh, that guy could maybe fix it and bring us to the modern era.’ Whereas, Auburn doesn’t feel that way, Oklahoma really doesn’t feel that way.”

Sanders said FSU isn't even his alma mater. There's no love lost between the Seminoles and the former star CB.

Deion Sanders won't have it as good at FSU as he has it with Colorado football

That assumes that FSU would be cool with Sanders getting the kind of autonomy he gets at the University of Colorado Boulder. They likely wouldn't. Coach Prime found a desperate school that handed him the world and is tethering themselves to "Prime Time" for as long as he's interested in coaching.

The jump in resources from Jackson State to CU was severe. But Colorado has top-tier facilities and can get to a level of NIL where they'd be able to compete with anyone in the country. Coach Prime's messaging has already convinced elite trench talent to ignore millions from Tennessee to be in Boulder.

Sanders' ceiling is endless at CU. No need to explore alternatives.
