First-year Colorado football defensive coordinator Robert Livingston complimented Travis Hunter for his on-field abilities and who he is as a student-athlete at the University of Colorado Boulder during a July 31 press conference.

“I think Travis could do anything he wants to do," Livingston said (h/t Essentially Sports). "I talked about it, I think Travis is a unicorn. We had a spring academic meeting, Travis goes up there, is a 4.0 student, Travis, takes every play in practice. I think Travis can do anything.

"So yeah, I don’t want to put bulletin (board material) on his back or anything like that. But yeah, I think Travis can do just about anything.”

There are a few things we know Hunter can do. For one, he can deny all of the biggest programs in the country to play in the SWAC for Jackson State; something that took endless courage and faith in Coach Prime to do. Certainly, Hunter has seen that risk pay off by helping make HBCUs an even bigger national story and now being a top-five valuated NIL athlete in the country.

We also know that Hunter has other-worldly athleticism, something he showed all season in 2023 and during the current offseason on both sides of the ball. That goes without saying.

Luckily, Hunter is impressing all the right people as he heads into his likely final collegiate season.

Travis Hunter could play up to four positions for Colorado football in 2024

Hunter is a two-way star the likes of which we haven't seen since Deion Sanders himself, but in 2024, he could play up to four positions for the Buffs.

CB coach Kevin Mathis hinted that Hunter could be seeing time at the nickel position this Fall.

“He’s been playing the majority inside and when we can have him do that and be strong and outside with Preston (Hodge) and DJ (McKinney), it’s gonna be a sight to see and we are excited about that,” Mathis said (h/t Times-Call).

Meanwhile, the idea of Hunter kicking an extra point is on the table. That'd be a great way to get even more eyeballs on his talents.

What can't Hunter do is becoming a tougher question to answer every day.
