Deion Sanders sends cryptic message supporting son amidst accountability concerns
Things were supposed to go well for Shedeur Sanders in 2024. Yet, just two games into the season, Deion Sanders is already jumping in to defend his son.
The claims of "zero accountability" engulfing Shedeur Sanders after the no-show on Saturday almost pressured Prime to intervene.
"What happened to Accountability for lies told & consequently sold. A lie don’t care who tells it & only a fool can fool a fool but the Wise is Prudent," the Colorado HC tweeted on Monday, subtly defending his son from the imminent accountability questions.
Well, Shedeur's disposition on the field on Saturday called for some defending. The guy walked out mid-game with two minutes left on the clock as secondary QB Ryan Staub had handled the QB reins. The reigning champion of being sacked the most in 2023 -- a whopping 52 times -- was sacked 5 times by the Nebraska defenders, adding to the shame.
Shedeur shifting the blame to his O-line postgame only made matters worse. All of this combined called for some solid action from Coach Prime. But Deion being Deion hardly limited his response to defending his kid. The marketing mastermind also dragged the people he has had bad blood in the recent past through the mud.
No one does 'kill two birds with one stone' better than Deion Sanders
The burst of anger was long due, given the latest surroundings of Prime. The CU head coach is girdled with all the dramas surrounding him, right from his feud with the media, to his sizzling back-and-forth battle with Paul Finebaum.
Coach Prime's words called out the people questioning his son, sure, but it did much more than that. It also hinted at his bubbling frustration with everything around him -- including the ones questioning his integrity in the feud with Finebaum and media people.
Now, add the fresh, demanding questions, most of which are brewing from the previous season's bottled rage and disappointment, and biting criticism coming from fans after the crushing 28-10 loss against Nebraska.
Safe to say, the tension is on the rise for Sanders and Co.
While the drama will never die down surrounding Deion Sanders, it would be worth the wait to see how "Prime Time" tackles this.
