Former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum believes Shedeur Sanders has a better chance of starting under center for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2025 season than current QB1 Dak Prescott; sharing the take on the August 30 episode of ESPN's "Get Up."

"There's a better chance, in my opinion, that Shedeur Sanders could be the quarterback [for the Cowboys] next year than Dak Prescott at this point," Tannenbaum said.

Shedeur's 445 passing yards and four passing touchdowns against North Dakota State reaffirmed his status as a likely top draft pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Even his one interception was a freak play and nothing league scouts will hold against him. Coach Prime's youngest son is a potential franchise cornerstone, and as much as Deion Sanders wants to claim he didn't threaten the league by claiming his sons and Travis Hunter would pull an Eli Manning and not go where he drafted, it's possible that Shedeur will be steered to a certain city.

The Cowboys are on Deion's approved list of NFL teams. This union is one that'd happen if Prescott found a new home in free agency.

And it certainly looks like he will.

Shedeur Sanders can be drafted by the Cowboys to replace Dak Prescott

Prescott has no less than seven potential suitors in 2025 free agency. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the NY Giants, NY Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and LA Rams could all register interest in Prescott next summer.

In today's NFL market, Prescott is due for a record contract. It's fairly obvious the Cowboys won't be the one handing him that deal since they've had years to do so and haven't.

Dallas will need a QB, and no NFL franchise with a need at the position is going to overlook Shedeur next April.
