Shedeur Sanders was floated for the cover of either the Standard Edition or Collector's Edition of the EA Sports College Football 25 video game by On3's Jesse Simonton -- who also pitched Ole Miss's Jaxson Dart.

"Who knows what’s in store for the Standard Edition cover or the Collector’s Edition? Other players — like Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart could be involved as well," Simonton wrote. "2024 is set to be a wildly unique season, so why not give shine to as many programs and players as possible?"

Shedeur not being chosen for the Deluxe Edition cover of the game sparked a social media controversy solely caused by BroBible's Dov Kleiman claiming there was a controversy and being flamed for it.

Travis Hunter one of the EA Sports College Football 25 Deluxe Edition cover stars

Travis Hunter, on the other hand, was chosen for the EA Sports College Football 25 Deluxe Edition cover along with Texas QB Quinn Ewers, Michigan RB Donovan Edwards, Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, and Georgia QB Carson Beck.

The deluxe edition featured flags in the background of Kansas State, Iowa, Florida, Nebraska, and Auburn, while a player with the classic all-gold Notre Dame helmet is to the left of Ewers. Many other schools can be seen as well, though not all of them can be easily identified.

All the players in the foreground, besides Edwards, are projected to be at or near the top of 2025 NFL draft boards. Hunter's two-way versatility has him in the running for the No. 1 overall pick, but if the 2024 draft is any indication, a quarterback will most likely be taken.

Enter Shedeur, whose father, Coach Prime, has the "Grown QB" pegged as a top-three pick, and who Simonton has in mind to be a cover athlete for one of the covers of the EA Sports College Football 25 video game.
