Shedeur Sanders is "extremely confident" about the landmark addition of the Colorado football program's offseason, 5-star OT Jordan Seaton, the third highest-rated recruit the Buffs have brought to Boulder in the last 25 years.
"I'm extremely confident," Sanders said of Seaton's prospects for the 2024 season (h/t BuffsBeat). "I would say Jordan, definitely showed me that he's ready He showed me a lot that I really didn't expect. I understand he's young, he's going to have growing pains, but really just the fact that he's able to listen on and off the field." Sanders went on to say, "I'm really excited, I'm really happy about Jordan. I'm happy he made the decision, because I feel like it's the right one. He's definitely a generational player."
It's hard not to be excited about Seaton after Colorado's offensive line struggled to protect Shedeur's blindside in 2023. As a freshman, it's likely that Seaton will see the field from the jump.
Seaton sees Coach Prime as an uncle, so it's likely Coach Prime values him as family much in the same way he does Travis Hunter.
"I look at Prime like another uncle," said Seaton (h/t 247Sports). "To have that much pressure on you and have a man who believes in your craft and believes in your game like that... it's different. Everything that he said means just a little bit more."
Jordan Seaton could be what convinces Coach Prime to stay with Colorado football
At this point, Coach Prime leaving Colorado feels on the table with his sons having no eligibility left after the 2024 season and his daughter Shelomi transferring from the Buffs' women's basketball team.
Seaton could be the primary player remaining with eligibility beyond this coming Fall who can convince Sanders not to leave for greener pastures.
For all we know, Seaton could be a big reason why CU is seen as greener pastures this season and beyond.
