According to BuffsBeat's Jason Jones, it's not clear if Deion Sanders knew of Ryan Garcia's history of substance abuse when he invited him into the Colorado football locker room during Black and Gold weekend.

Garcia is in the headlines for using racial slurs on social media. He's been cultivating a public friendship with Coach Prime and the Sanders family the past few months.

"It's unclear if anyone at Colorado knew about Garcia's history of alleged substance abuse when he was invited on campus in April," Jones wrote.

Deion Sanders Jr. has vowed not to abandon his friend.

"I'm not going to let a moment ruin a lifetime," Bucky said in a video on Well Off Media.

Deion Sanders and the Sanders family selectively forgiving since taking over Colorado football

Of course, Coach Prime and Co. aren't always forgiving.

Sanders showed plenty of grace to transfer Anthony "Deuce" Roberson after the controversial JUCO transfer who never got a chance to contribute to the Buffs when he announced his intentions to find a new school via the transfer portal.

"Love (you) my man and whomever you commit to will be getting a good young man that wants to prove to everybody he's more than deserving! God bless (you) my man," Sanders tweeted.

On the flip side, though, there's someone like Cormani McClain, who earned Sanders' trust by season's end but couldn't undo the initial September lashings enough to remain with the program for a second season.

The Sanders family are selective on who they hand out grace to. Garcia, who rose to the top of the boxing world before his win over Devin Haney was overturned and now this social media screwup, clearly earned Coach Prime and Co.'s loyalty; certainly enough to spend the Fourth of July weekend with the family.
