Could Deion Sanders really be getting ready to walk away from Colorado football? Fans in Boulder are understandably in a bit of a panic over the news that on Monday, Coach Prime will hold a press conference with his medical team on the first day of fall camp.

Sanders has been dealing with a mysterious illness for a few months, which has kept him away from the program. He has been on his ranch in Texas instead of in Boulder recruiting and working to get ready for the season. He's back in Boulder now, but whether he'll be there for long remains in question.

Sanders' oldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., posted a recent video that showed his father being more active than he has been in some time, but Prime cautioned that he was still going through something. He has promised updates to come, and Monday, the world will find out what has had the NFL legend and third-year Buffaloes head coach on the mend for so long.

Sanders did not discuss his medical issues at Big 12 Media Days a couple of weeks ago, instead wanting to keep the focus on his team. His decision to attend Big 12 Media Days foreshadowed his return to the sideline, but that has provided little solace for Colorado fans.

Fans are speculating that Deion Sanders is planning his Colorado exit plan

A lot of fans have speculated that Sanders hoped to be two and out in Boulder, timing his exit away from the Buffaloes with his sons and Travis Hunter leaving. That doesn't explain the very real medical issues Sanders has dealt with in the last few years, however.

Urban Meyer always catches strays in any situation related to premature retirements. Meyer walked away from Florida due to "health issues" just to reappear a couple of years later at Ohio State, where he had a dominant run with the Buckeyes.

Can you really call yourself a Colorado fan if you say things like this? How can you wish for the downfall of your own program? And in fairness, most of the vitriol in the comments of these posts is from fans of other teams.

Plenty of people have speculated that Sanders was using Colorado as a springboard to a bigger job. But others have stated that if he ultimately left Colorado, it wouldn't be for another job.

It's certainly fair for Colorao fans to be nervous. It's probably going to be much ado about nothing, but it is highly unusual for a coach to call a press conference and bring his medical team with him. Perhaps Coach Prime may have some restrictions this season? Could he pull a Hugh Freeze and coach from a bed in the pressbox?

An unequivocal fact: college football is much better with Coach Prime in it.

Of course, there is this update from the man himself earlier on Friday. Fans all over seem to be completely ignoring this message from Sanders, which points to him being back in Boulder and feeling better. If he were planning on walking away, it would seem to be highly unlikely that he would post this.
